The Finance Project has unparalleled experience and knowledge of financing strategies and sustainability planning. As a result, we are uniquely qualified to assist clients through customized research, consulting, technical assistance, and training to develop and implement strategies that fit their unique needs and goals. We provide consulting services directly to clients, and technical assistance and support for groups on behalf of foundations, government programs and agencies, and others.
We help policymakers, program developers, and community leaders, including state and local officials, foundation executives, academic researchers, service providers, and advocates by providing:
- Creative new ideas for policies, programs, and system reforms
- Comprehensive tools for identifying, refining, and expanding the use of promising practices
- Effective policy and program tools to help clients identify needs and achieve goals
Our mission is to help leaders gain access to the knowledge, tools, and support they need to make smart investments, develop sound financing strategies, and build solid partnerships. As the economic, demographic, and policy context evolves, so do our products and services. What remains constant, however, is our added value:
- Neutral partner – We present the facts and highlight relevant considerations associated with a broad array of innovative ideas, strategies, and practices. We do not prescribe, and we do not advocate particular ideological or political positions.
- Cross-disciplinary, cross-program and cross-systems perspective – Efforts to improve the well-being of children, families, and communities are more likely to succeed when they bring health care, education, social services, and economic development closer together. That means going beyond the narrow boundaries of academic and professional disciplines, program domains, and agency structures. Seeing the opportunities and challenges from many points of view is at the core of The Finance Project’s approach.
- Helping clients while building the field – To enhance the return on investment, The Finance Project focuses on two important outcomes:
1) Helping our clients solve problems, build capacity, and achieve their goals; and
2) Creating and sharing knowledge and resources to strengthen the field.
We expect our work for individual clients to lead to new ideas, new tools, and new ways to help other leaders in other organizations nationwide who face similar challenges. We share our learning widely.
- Ready resource – The Finance Project makes information, tools, and technical assistance resources – our own and those developed by other individuals and organizations – widely available to decision makers when they are needed. We make them easy to find and easy to use. And we make sure they are targeted to the needs and learning styles of our clients and audiences.
- Valuable links to other people, projects and resources – The Finance Project is closely connected with many individuals and organizations that fund, develop, and use knowledge, tools, and technical assistance. Our sponsors, clients, and strategic partners benefit from our broad network and our ability to bring people, projects, and resources together.
